About Goldenrod Direct Color Print and Mail

Art Submission Specifications

At Goldenrod, we have designers on staff who can provide full-service production for your printing project. That means that we can give you exactly what you want, whether you walk in with just an idea, or completely camera-ready artwork.

Supplying camera-ready artwork can reduce your costs by limiting the amount of preparation work we have to do in order to print your files. When you choose to do this, there are a few guidelines you can follow that will make sure we can work with your files.

Formats

At Goldenrod, we can work with either Macintosh (preferred) or Windows files.

The software we use is QuarkXpress, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. We will also accept PDF files. Although we can also accept some other common file formats (such as Word), we can't guarantee the ability to produce them "as is."

Images

For best results, the images you provide should be 300dpi at the final output size. We prefer to work with TIFF files. If supplying JPEG files, make sure they have been saved with the Compression Quality set to "maximum." Please convert all images to CMYK format before saving.

Images saved for the Web, or pulled from a web site are rarely suitable for printing and we cannot guarantee final quality.

Please be aware that most images are copyright protected. Obtaining copyright permission for any images supplied to Goldenrod is the sole responsibility of the customer.

Fonts

If your document uses a specific font, you must either supply that font with your files, or convert all of the text to "outlines" (or "paths").
